Metro Waste Authority’s curbside recycling program, Curb It! Recycle and Roll, is now being offered to select businesses on established residential routes.
How Does it Work?
- Complete a curbside collection eligibility form
Not all business will qualify for this recycling program. To find out if your business is eligible to have recycling collected, you must complete and submit the eligibility form to the right.
Note: If your business is located within Des Moines city limits, contact the Des Moines Public Works at 515-283-4950 to coordinate curbside recycling for your business. If your office has a Des Moines address but is located in unincorporated Polk County, please fill out the form to see if your business is eligible.
- Await a response from MWA
You will receive a response from MWA on your eligibility in the order in which requests were received.
- Purchase Curb It! carts
If your business qualifies, you can purchase up to five carts.
- Collect it and Curb It!
Recycle and Roll carts will be picked up bi-weekly on the regular residential collection day.
Alternative Recycling Programs
Listed below are alternative recycling programs if your business is not eligible for Curb It! Recycle and Roll.
Self-Haul Recycling
Businesses who want to recycle paper, plastic bottles, clear glass, tin, aluminum and wood can use one of the Metro Recycling Centers free of charge.
Electronics Recycling
MWA offers the best environmentally-friendly option to dispose of old electronics, or e-waste, at our Regional Collection Center.
