Roof Shingles
Roofing companies and residents can save money and keep asphalt shingles out of the landfill by recycling them at either one of our landfills, Metro Park East or Metro Park West.
When roof shingles are brought to one of our landfills, we grind them up, extract nails, and use the recycled substance for dust control on gravel roads. It is also mixed in with asphalt and used to make roads!
Shingles that contain asbestos are also accepted at Metro Park East Landfill, but would be categorized as special waste.
