4 Steps for WHEN You Arrive at Landfill

1. WHEN YOU ARRIVE, let our scalehouse staff know you have shingles to recycle. The scalehouse:

  • Directs you where to unload (spots 1-7) in the Shingles Drop-Off Area.
  • Requests a landfill staff member meets you.
  • Requires a Certification Form [English|Spanish/Español] is signed to verify the shingles are from a residental home. This form can be completed ahead of time.

2. START TO UNLOAD the shingles in the numbered spot the scalehouse staff provided to you. A landfill staff member will arrive to determine if the load is clean.

3. RECYCLE METAL & WOOD by using the containers in this area to recycle scrap metal and clean wood from your load. Use the trash barrels to dispose of other roofing debris.

4. CHECKING THE LOAD We determine if the load is:

  • Clean (Accepted): You qualify for discount.
  • Could Be Cleaned: Landfill staff shows what needs removed to qualify for discount.
  • Not Cleanable (Unaccepted): If it's not possible to remove debris, you will be asked to take what's still on your truck to the small-vehicle garbage bins or the landfill. Landfill staff will take care of what was unloaded. You will not qualify for the discount.
