Curb It! helps 120,000 households recycle more than 18,000 tons of materials each year. But where do all those materials go? Well, once your green Curb It! cart is collected, all those recyclables are delivered to the Curb It! Recycling Facility operated by Greenstar. This state-of-the-art facility
is manned by mechanical processes, technology and people that sort the recyclables so they can be sold for reuse.
All of the materials accepted in the program are recycled. Only 3% of the total material received is rejected because it is not accepted in the program. This material, such as plastic bags and clothing, is removed and landfilled.
If you have questions about how your Curb It! materials are being sorted and recycled, please contact us directly at 515-244-0021. We are happy to answer any questions you might have and provide additional information.
