Swap ShopSwap Shop

Located at the Metro Hazardous Waste Drop-Off, the Swap Shop offers free slightly used products for residents and businesses. The Swap Shop contains usable household cleaners, paints, etc., brought in by the public for others to use.

During the first year of operation, over 3,300 people took advantage of the Swap Shop, walking away with 123,600 pounds of free products. In 2011, the Swap Shop gave away 147,175 pounds of free products.

Swap Shop Hours: Tuesday - Friday: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday Hours: 8 a.m. - Noon
• September - May: First and Third Saturday of each month
• June - August: Every Saturday

Clean Up Crew

Household hazardous waste drop-off is also available through a mobile collection unit that travels through more than 20 counties surrounding Polk County to provide for the safe disposal of hazardous waste. Residents can also bring items such as cleaners, insecticides, poisons, solvents, paint and other hazardous household products to these events.
