Why Compost It!
Recycling Yard Waste into Compost
The Iowa State Legislature banned yard waste from Iowa's landfills. In 1991, it became illegal to throw grass clippings and other yard debris in the trash. Compost It! was designed as a way to help Central Iowa comply with the law and recycle a viable material into compost.
