- Mercury thermometer, switches, etc. can be taken to the Regional
Collection Center.
Metals
- Look up "Scrap Metal - Process and Recycle" in your
phonebook
Metal polish (solvent-based)
- Metal polish can be taken to the Regional
Collection Center.
Microwave ovens - Microwaves are considered appliances and
can be taken to the MPE Landfill for
a $10 recycling fee.
Mixed Paper - Mixed paper is accepted in the Curb
It! recycling program. Place mixed paper into a brown paper
sack and place in the bin. The following mixed paper items are accepted:
- Cereal Boxes, Tissue Boxes and Shoe Boxes—Flatten and
remove any plastic liners from boxes.
- Magazines, Catalogs and Old Mail (including window envelopes)
- Clean Paper-Typing paper, computer printouts, etc. Staples,
paper clips, sticky notes, and tape are okay
- Greeting Cards, Holiday Wrapping Paper—Please throw away
bows and foil-type paper.
- Phone Books-Please limit phone books to two books per pick-up.
If you have more than this, please save until the next recycling
pickup day, or use the Metro Recycling Center.
Mothballs - Mothballs can be taken to the Regional
Collection Center.
Needles - Needles are accepted at the Regional
Collection Center if they are in a puncture-proof container
that is labeled appropriately.
Newspapers - Newspapers are accepted in the Curb
It! recycling program. Place a stack of them in the bottom of
the bin. Large amounts of paper can be taken to the Metro
Recycling Center.
Oil - Waste oil may be taken to the Regional
Collection Center.
Oil Filters - Used oil filters may be taken to the Regional
Collection Center.
Oven cleaner -
Oven cleaner can be taken to the Regional
Collection Center.
Ovens - Ovens are
considered applieances and can be taken to the MPE
Landfill.
