Metro Waste Authority, a dynamic government agency, is seeking a key member for our leadership team. The Finance Administrator plays a vital role in determining strategy for the overall management of the organization along with our multi-faceted and growing business model. This includes leading a team while guiding all financial endeavors of the agency.

Below is a sampling of the responsibilities managed by this position:

  • Participates in ongoing strategic planning as a member of senior management team, making recommendations to the Deputy Director based on financial analysis and projections, cost identification and allocation, and revenue/expense analysis.
  • Oversees long-term budgetary planning and cost management in alignment with MWA’s strategic plan.
  • Manages cash flow and forecasting; directs all financial, project-based and departmental accounting.
  • Develops and manages finance department staff, IT staff, vendor relationships, etc.
  • Prepares financial reporting materials and metrics for the Executive Director, MWA’s board of directors, as well as regulatory agencies.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA and/or CPA desirable
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in accounting, budgeting, financial analysis, and supervision
  • Valid driver’s license
