NO CHANGE TO COLLECTION SCHEDULE OVER THE HOLIDAYS

Garbage and recycling will be collected as usual the weeks of Dec. 20 and 27. Residents should place their carts at the curb on their normal collection day, Monday - Friday, for a regular pickup schedule. To find your normal collection day, check out our Collection and Drop-Off page and select your city.

WINTER COLLECTION FOR YARD WASTE

Yard waste has one more chance to be collected curbside during the Compost It! program's winter collection, Dec. 27 - Jan. 7. During winter collection, live Christmas trees and regular yard waste are accepted at the curb on residents' normal collection day.

Live trees must be cleared of all decorations and have a green Compost It! Sticker attached. Yard waste must be placed in Compost It! carts, Compost It! bags, or store-brand yard waste bags with a green Compost It! sticker attached. Wreaths and garlands are not accepted.

FACILITY HOLIDAY HOURS

All Metro Waste Authority facilities will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Additionally, the Hazardous Waste Drop-Off will be closed Dec. 24 and 31. A complete list of facility hours can be found here.
