Houseside Collection

Residents in participating communities can dispose of household hazardous waste (HHW) just outside their doors. House side collection is currently available in Clive, Johnston, Norwalk, Urbandale, and West Des Moines.

Eligibility & Requirements

The following are eligible for house side collection of hazardous waste:

• Residents in Clive, Johnston, Norwalk, Urbandale and West Des Moines
• Residents who are eligible for Curb It! recycling
• Townhome residents with private driveways
• Waste must be generated from a household (not a business)
• Only Accepted Items will be picked up

Residents living in condos or apartments can use Metro Waste Authority’s hazardous waste drop-off sites in Bondurant or Grimes
