2018-19 Financial Audit for Metro Waste Authority

Metro Waste Authority received an unmodified opinion on its 2018-2019 financial statements. Denman & Company, LLP performed the audit. The financial statements reported Metro Waste Authority’s operating revenues totaled $37.7 million for the year ending June 30, 2019. Yard Waste Season Ends November 30

Nov. 4, 2019 – The Compost It! program picks up yard waste throughout the Metro. Curbside collection will end November 30th for the season. The program accepts small twigs and branches, leaves and lawn clippings, as well as any garden vegetation. Just avoid dirt, mulch, rocks, and food. Read Article

Free Gas Can Exchange in Grimes

Des Moines, IA (June 3, 2019) –  Christopher Allsup was a vibrant young boy whose life was taken too soon due to a plastic gasoline can that exploded. He suffered burns over 90% of his body and eventually died from his injuries. In his memory, his family has partnered with Safe Kids Greater Des Moines, Blank Children’s Hospital, and Metro Waste Authority; to exchange residents’ gas containers for safety cans. Read Article
