Feb. 26, 2026 – Metro Waste Authority received an unqualified opinion as part of the audit of its fiscal year ending June 30, 2025, and the related financial statements. Denman & Company, LLP performed the audit.
The financial statements reported that Metro Waste Authority’s revenues totaled $66.9 million. This is an 8% increase from fiscal year 2024. Revenue is generated from operation of two landfills in the metro; a recycling facility and various recycling programs, including hazardous waste and construction and demolition recycling; a compost program; and management of residential garbage and recycling programs. These efforts include the Curb It! recycling and Compost It! curbside programs offered to residents.
Total expenses for the fiscal year were $52.9 million, which is an increase of 2% compared to the prior year.
An unqualified opinion provides independent confirmation that Metro Waste Authority’s financial statements are presented fairly and in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles. Accurate and timely information ensures Metro Waste Authority’s accountability to its member communities and allows its Board of Directors and staff to make informed operational, budget and policy decisions.
