Frying a Turkey for Thanksgiving?
If you plan to fry a turkey this Thanksgiving, plan also to recycle the used cooking oil at one of our hazardous waste drop-off locations. We’ve partnered with Mid-Iowa Renewables, which recycles cooking oil from local businesses. Because of our relationship with this company, we are able provide this free recycling outlet to residents, as well.

You can recycle canola, peanut and vegetable oil year-round. Grease is not accepted. The oil collected is reused to support the local biodiesel industry.
